17 fly off for Unissa's Study Abroad Programme | |

Seventeen of 23 students under Unissa's Study Abroad Programme 2010/2011 yesterday flew off to further their educational experiences at renowned universities halfway across the world.
Apart from possessing positive attitudes and personalities, the students - comprising 12 women and five men - qualified by meeting prerequisites that include a B+ grade or a 3.33 CGPA, strong commands of the English and Arabic languages, as well as being active in ECA and co-curriculum.
They followed their 14 counterparts who had been sent overseas for the 2009/2010 academic year.
Nine of the 17 students - Nurulhafizah Dewiyana Abd Aziz, Siti Norbaya Abu Bakar, Rafidah Hj Yussof, Dk Siti Nurul Iryani Pg Othman, Siti Juhaidah Hj Bujang, Hamimah @ Arby Hj Abu Bakar, Ramizah Hj Ibrahim, Norliyana Aqilah Juni and Nor Hafizah Hj Jahari - will be attending the University of Yarmouk.
The other eight - Mohd Arif Hj Sabtu, Mohd Nor Haadiy Jofri, Alassarir Hj Othman, Hj Mohd Syazwan Nizar Hj Mat Zain, Muhd Najib Hj Awang, Nurul Qurratu 'Aini Hj Pungut, Norumairah Hj Abd Majid and Nurul Muizzatul Ain Hj Idris - will be at the Dar Al 'Ulum, Cairo University in Jordan, and Cairo, Egypt.
The establishment of the said programme was aimed at exposing students to different educational environments as well as encouraging them to improve their academic performances, whilst presenting them with different and new horizons.
Bidding them farewell at the airport yesterday were family and friends, as well as Unissa's Registrar Hj Tarip Mat Yassin and Student Dean Dr Hj Norarfan Hj Zainal.
